In the month since Typhoon Haiyan struck, Vancouver’s Filipino community has mobilized to raise relief funds and awareness. However, there have also been concerns that the government is misusing funds, and anxiety around the army’s role blurring the line between relief and counter-insurgency. On the show we also compare and contrast the aftermath of Haiyan with situation following Haiti’s earthquake in 2010.
