Hi, what are you looking for?

Support The Mainlander!

The Mainlander is a volunteer-run publication covering local politics and social issues on the unceded Indigenous territories of the Musqueam, Skxwú7mesh, Tsleil-Waututh and other Coast Salish peoples.

Consider supporting our work via OpenCollective. Your contributions fund the basic costs of hosting an online publication at a time when the media landscape is undergoing cuts and corporate restructuring, increasingly concentrated in the hands of the few.

Supporting independent media outlets like The Mainlander can help break the oligopoly’s grip on public discourse and privilege. It also helps amplify marginalized voices and grassroots movements at a time when local and diverse voices risk being overshadowed, censored, and silenced. The Mainlander aims to support democratic participation and mass movements from below capable of challenging power.

The Mainlander has been in continuous operation since 2011.

The Mainlander does not accept money from corporations or real-estate developers. We rely on our readers' support to do research and write articles.

The Mainlander can also accept direct e-transfer via mainlander.hub@gmail.com.
